At the bottom of the control pane left side of the screen, find the Toolpaths tab, and click it. Once you have a relief loaded and displayed in the 3D window, like what you see above, you need to switch modes in ArtCAM into the Toolpaths section of the software. ![]() ArtCAM keeps all of this fairly straightforward, though, and more or less stepwise through a top-to-bottom approach to making these decisions. This process has several steps and many different factors, including not just the surface itself, but also what cutting tool or tools you are using, how many machining passes to take, and what kind of passes these are - roughing to take out the bulk fo the material, or finishing to smooth out and clean up the surface. Now that you have a surface relief created, ArtCAM is used to generate the appropriate toolpaths for machining it. This is coming from someone who has no prior knowledge of cnc machines or artcam software. ![]() Does anyone have any tips? I am trying to work out the process as to how to take an image and straighten the vectors etc and basically make it ready for transferring to the machine. ![]() I have recently acquired a cnc machine with artcam software, but cannot find any details online as to how to get hold of a manual or basic information.
